Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp is an American 14-cylinder, air-cooled supercharged two-row radial engine.The production of the Twin Wasp began in 1934 at which time its power output was only 625 hp. It was much heavier than the single-row radials then in use but because of its smaller diameter its drag was lower.The output of versions manufactured during WW II varied from 1,065 to 1,350 hp.

Altogether 173,618 Twin Wasps were built, more than any other aero-engine ever. The best known Twin Wasp - powered aircraft types are the Consolidated B-24 Liberator and Douglas DC-3.
