Blenheim IV V6267/WV:M of No 18 Squadron on 16 July 1941

(Rus)  Some of the low-level photographs brought home by Blenheims were spectacular. On 16 July 1941 36 aircraft bombed the shipping in Rotterdam docks, damaging at least twenty vessels. Flak brought down four of the attackers, including V6267/WV:M of No 18 Squadron shortly after this photograph was taken. Flown by the squadron CO, Wg Cdr Partridge, the Blenheim was seen to crash in a river. Partridge had only joined the squadron at the beginning of the month, bringing his observer, Sgt Dvorjetz, with him. (IWM C1951)
